According to some reports, KPOP veteran Rain is probably coming back to the small screen this year. Yes, the idol-turned-actor is reportedly in talks to star in an upcoming drama, Ghost Doctor. The series will be a crossover between the medical and paranormal drama.
The said project is said to be filmed under Boo Sung Chul, director of famous dramas like The Inheritors and Jang Ok Jung, Lives in Love.
If the project is pushed through, this is going to be Rain’s first-ever drama after being on hiatus for two years. His last drama was MBC TV’s Welcome 2 Life wherein he played the role of a lawyer in one of the biggest law firms in South Korea who found himself in a parallel world after getting involved in a car accident. The said drama aired from August 5 to September 24, 2019.
It has also been recently reported that Rain is cooking some collaboration project with South Korean soprano Jo Su Mi. The track, which is going to be the theme song for UNIVERSE, a newly released fan community app, is scheduled to be released tomorrow, February 9, 2021. The title was not revealed yet though it has been said that the song will be their way of showing support as music industry veterans to the younger generation of KPOP artists.
Rain debuted as part of the boy band Fanclub last 1998 at the age of 16. The group only lasted for two years. The singer made a breakthrough on his third Korean album, It’s Raining, which was released last 2004. He was able to release a total of seven albums, six Korean and one Japanese, along with 28 singles. He went on a successful series of world tours and was able to build a successful acting career, as well.
